7 Reasons to Use Email Marketing
(&
Why You Are Missing Out if You Don’t!)
(printer friendly version)
If you aren’t using email to help you attract and keep clients, you’re missing out on one of the most exciting, cost-effective marketing tools the world has ever known!
I love email.
OK, I don’t actually love email the same way that I love my wife and kids, but I do love the power of email. I’ll tell you why…
Email is easy to use.
Email gets fast results.
Email is very inexpensive – sometimes even free!
Email saves time, money and energy.
Email is the most versatile, trackable, customizable marketing vehicle around!
Email is results oriented and I like results.
Email is waiting for you! So, what are you waiting for?
Here are 7 reasons why you should consider using email marketing for your business.
1. Email marketing is low cost.
Direct mail and print ads can be an effective form of advertising, but they can also eat up a marketing budget pretty fast. With email, you’ll manage your list through a third party service that will range in cost from free to around $20 a month. This service will also give you excellent tools for tracking your results also! (See point 6) After a low monthly fee, it costs nothing else to mail to 100, 1,000 or 10,000 people!
2. Email marketing allows you to communicate instantly!
Once you have your email list set up, you can talk to anyone on your list anytime you want! You don’t have to wait months, weeks or evens days for your ads to appear in print or arrive in a mailbox. Email is a quick and easy, push-of-the-button, extremely-direct marketing tool! Nothing compares to email for instant communication.
3. Email marketing saves you time.
Once your email message is created, you just push the send button and it’s gone! That’s it. In moments your prospects or clients are receiving your communication. You also save time because, when you use email there are no envelopes to address or stamp, no meetings with advertising reps to attend, no waiting for the next publication to come out.
4. Email marketing gives you really fast results!
When we send out an email message like the one you are reading right now, we get results in minutes -- not days or weeks or even months as with other forms of advertising. This is one of the points I love most about email – people respond fast – and that’s a lot more fun than waiting for next Sunday’s newspaper to come out! Got a message you need to get out today? Want to increase sales this weekend? Using email is the answer!
5. Email marketing is highly customizable.
The right words are critical to getting the results you want. With email, you are in control of the tone, the tempo and the message. You have the power to create excitement, drama and interest. The ability to customize your message as a reaction to what clients say they want is very powerful.
6. Email marketing makes it easy to track results.
Why should you track marketing results? Because, If you aren’t tracking, you’re wasting your money, plain and simple. If you don’t know what’s working and what isn’t, how do you know what your clients want from you?
All of your marketing efforts should center around one, simple concept; Helping people get more of what they want. One of the best ways to know what your clients want is to track their response to your offers.
If you track, you’ll learn. If you learn, you’ll get better. If you get better, you’ll make more money with less effort. Tracking is not difficult with email. In fact, it’s probably easier to track with email than with any other type of marketing.
7. Email marketing is powerful because of the “permission” factor!
When I talk about email lists, I am not talking about going out and buying some obscure list of email addresses from innocent people who have never heard of you or your studio. That would be spam and everyone hates spam. (Not the fake-meat kind of Spam, though I suppose plenty of people hate that too!) The last thing you want to do is associate yourself and your business with something everyone hates.
The antithesis of spam is permission.
Getting someone to give you permission to email them is not difficult; we do it all the time. And, having permission to communicate with someone makes a HUGE difference, especially in the results column. (You would like to get results from your marketing efforts, right?) Finally, the quality of your mailing list is directly determined by the quality of permission you obtained from the person you are communicating with.
