Where are you located?
I’m located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
How long have you been designing?
About 3 years doing custom work for individual photographers, and I started creating templates about 2 years ago.
What do you love about being a designer?
Being able to help photographers make their photos look even more amazing, and being able to stay home with my kids and work from home.
Tell us about your family
I have two kids, a 4 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. And a great husband who puts up with my crazy work hours.
Do you like designing for photographers and why?
I love it. It’s like being behind the scenes creating these beautiful finished products, and it’s cool to be a part of that. I won’t say I’m like the wizard behind the curtain, but sometimes I like to think of it that way.
How would you describe your style of design?
Well, if you knew how many drafts most of my products went through to get to their final stage, you’d probably think my style was about everything in the book. I try to create designs that are complimentary to the photography, but also looks great by itself. After all, the focus point of the printed card or album is the photography, not my designs. I’d describe the style as everything between bright modern to grunge retro and vintage. My newest favorite set I’m working on is vintage birds and ladybugs. Watch for those cards and mini soon!
What are you favorite templates (products) to design?
I love creating cards. It’s crazy how many hours I can put into one card, then switch to another type and spend just as much time being creative with a completely different style. I also love the mini albums, because the final printed products look so great.
What question(s) about your designs do you get the most?
The question I’m most often asked is how I find the time to do all of them. But the truth is, I am incredibly lucky to have a strong background in art, as well as a very supportive husband who helps cover a lot of my other responsibilities while my time is spent designing. I am truly very lucky to have found my spot in the design world.
What formats/file types do your designs come in?
All the files come in PSD’s, or jpgs for some of the word art or papers. Some also come in Proselect files, I’m working on getting them all in this format.
The final word from Sarah…
I’m very grateful for everyone who supports my work and uses my templates. Also, I’m always here to help answer questions. I really enjoy making video tutorials for Photoshop to add to my website, and I’m always glad to have requests for certain types, just let me know! When I’m not designing or hanging out with my family, I’m most likely on the treadmill. I love running and I’m currently training for my second marathon.
